About Me

I studied palaeobotany under Dr Edna Plumstead and Prof Tom Harris and have researched fossil plants since completing Botany Hons in 1966. Together with Dr John Anderson I have made a unique collection of fossil plants and insects from the Triassic, Gondwana, Molteno Formation in southern Africa. Have co-authored six large monographs and published many papers on the Molteno Flora. Still active in research since early retirement in 2002 and currently researching a monograph describing the Molteno sphenophytes.

Regional representative for Africa for the International Organisation of Palaeobotany (IOP) from 1978 to 2002 (resigned).
Member of the committee for International Plant Nomenclature (Fossils) from 2001 to present.
